Students Receive Recognition in Essay Contest
Hser Blu, 12th grade student of Ms. Lisa Berken, is the runner-up for his essay about his father from the National Center for Fathering Spring 2010.

8th Grade Student Wins Essay Contest
Thomas Vang, student of Ms. Nicole Naumann, received 3rd place honors when he wrote about HCPA's Power Day in the annual 2010 Center for School Change essay contest.

Sixth Grade Students Explore with Poetry
Students in Mrs. Peulen-Deick's sixth grade class created an anthology of poetry aptly named "Rats in Amaze: Poetry and Prose written by students who were born in the year of the Rat".

2007-08 Seniors' Hmong Stories
As a class project, 12th grade students wrote stories that were Hmong-inspired. With the help of 11th grade artists, this book is a collection of stories written and edited by our students.
